After being heard of their destiny to use the power of Seir to become a new Spirit Tree to restore the land, before Ori could grab the complete Seir to complete the ritual, Shriek grabs Seir and crushes it in her talons before landing down to finish off Ori once and for all. However, blinded by her past, Shriek simply roars at Ori and flies off.Įventually, Ori makes it to the top of the Willow's End to revive the Spirit Willow. As Seir prepares to trigger another flash, Ori stops it and appears to try to reason with Shriek. Seir flashes a powerful light to defend Ori, causing Shriek to fall back in pain, destroying her horns and shattering half of the stone covering her skull, exposing her skin. Later, when Ori makes it to a flat area in front of Willow's End, Shriek flies in and attempts to crush Ori. Shriek spots them but Ori manages to escape into the woods. Ori manages to escape from Shriek but is swept away by the avalanche and falls down a canyon, only surviving when a giant bear named Baur rescues them.Īfter collecting the fifth and final piece of Seir and escaping a sandworm in the Windswept Wastes, as Ori traverses the lower layers of the Silent Woods to reach the Spirit Willow, Shriek arrives after Ori, forcing them to hide. Shriek attempts to snatch Ori as they are outrun from the avalanche. She misses, but in the process, she causes the hill to collapse and trigger an avalanche. Later in Baur's Reach, after Ori collects a piece of the wisp Seir from an Ancestral Tree, Shriek suddenly appears, attempting to crush Ori with her talons. Cornered at the edge of the cliff, Shriek crushes the owlet with her wing before sending her over the cliff, where Ori finds her in critical condition in the area below. Ku attacks Shriek by pecking her wing bone to protect Ori, only to be thrown aside. Upon reaching an open area at a cliffside, Shriek ambushes them, causing Ori to fall down into a pit. As they try to sneak past, they see Shriek search through the area for Ori, distracted after hearing a distant Howl. In the Silent Woods, after Ori is reunited with Ku, they hear Shriek and hide behind a rock as she walks by. Later, Shriek is seen flying over the marsh, to which Opher warns Ori to stay away from her. Shortly after arriving and being separated from their owl companion and adopted sister Ku, Shriek's roar can be heard when Ori awakens from their fall into the Inkwater Marsh, aware of their presence. When Ori, the Guardian Spirit of Nibel, arrives in Niwen to fulfill their destiny of reviving the Spirit Willow, Shriek becomes aware of their presence and seeks to stop them in their tracks. She then began terrorizing the rest of Niwen, assuring that no light would ever return to the forest. Unable to find warmth anywhere, Shriek accepted the darkness in her heart and grew up in the Silent Woods as a destructive being who hated any source of light. The only possible friends she could make were three owlets, only to be scared off by their parents who shooed her away. She was alienated from the other owls that survived the Decay born with flesh and muscle. Shriek's parents were some of the victims, having been turned to stone long before Shriek hatched from her egg in the Silent Woods, birthed as a deformed owl with stone covering her body, using her malformed wing bones as stilts. Ori and the Will of the Wisps is now available.In the land of Niwen, the loss of light from the Spirit Willow brought a curse of darkness around the area known as the Decay, causing most of its residents to either suffer or perish. The names of each are listed below, in no particular order.Įach level includes a number of collectibles, NPCs, upgrades and challenges to complete in addition to the main story quest. How Many Levels?Īll up, there are 13 different levels/areas in the game, including the opening, skippable prologue. You’ll only be able to fully explore the entire map and every level/area in Ori and the Will of the Wisps once you’ve unlocked all of the abilities. ![]() ![]() Most of these areas are locked off at the beginning of the game. While there aren’t “levels” perse, in Ori and the Will of the Wisps, there are different areas and dungeons that make up the world map. A sequel to Ori and the Blind Forest, Ori and the Will of the Wisps is a bigger game, with a greater emphasis on combat, but no less focus on exploration.
